Douglas, Isle of Man, 16th August 2011: Confideo, the Isle of Man based telecommunications software Development Company, have released an update to TNAPS Line Plant to make way for advanced fibre network planning.
Confideo Bridge Server has new integration points to the Ericsson Multi Activation (EMA) platform and the Axiros AXESS ACS platform for xDSL service provisioning using the TR-069 application layer protocol. This enables zero-touch provisioning of Internet Access and VoIP services and part of workflow processes in TNAPS Line Plant.
There seems to be a convention in the telecoms industry that when mapping copper or fibre networks in a GIS product, the maps should be the driver into the line plant inventory system. This is a problem for two reasons: network planners are generally not CAD engineers, and the cost of training a network planner to be a CAD engineer is very expensive. Confideo have been working to streamline this process to make the line plant inventory drive the production of GIS maps, CAD drawings and network schematics.
